Belgian Kurdish women’s group launches new initiatives

In Leuven, Belgium, the Kurdish Women’s Group, in cooperation with the Confederation of Kurdish Diaspora and the Federation of Kurdish Writers – Diaspora, organized a cultural celebration to honor both International Women’s Day (March 8) and National Dress Day in Kurdistan. This group is actively expanding its activities.

Kurdish activist Nasik Nasiri, a member of the group, emphasizes the need to better recognize and incorporate the contributions of Kurdish women, especially revolutionaries, into national history. She advocates for publishing significant works about their lives and achievements.

Another active member, writer and journalist Hermin Ahmed, recited a poem titled “History of Women” at an event held for International Women’s Day.

In addition to artistic activities, the group organizes meetings, special ceremonies, and traditional Kurdish feasts during their events.
