Hardem magazine debuts in Slemani: A new era in journalism

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the city of Slemani hosted the inaugural meeting of Hardem Magazine, a publication set to redefine cultural and journalistic engagement. The event drew prominent figures, including Dr. Salar Osman, head of the Culture and Media Department of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK), Slemani Governor Dr. Heval Aboobakr, and an audience of intellectuals, writers, and artists.

The program addressed themes such as children’s literature, drama, populism, and artificial intelligence. Editor-in-chief Zhian Jalal opened the event, followed by Governor Aboobakr, who praised Hardem Magazine for its cultural significance. Dr. Osman elaborated on the magazine’s mission, envisioning a shift from quarterly to monthly publications.

Highlights included a documentary screening, a performance by the Senober Music Group, and a panel discussion titled Culture: Between Opportunity and Challenge, moderated by Ashna Raoof. Panelists discussed children’s literature, drama, populism, and artificial intelligence as vital cultural topics.

The event concluded with honors for the panelists, marking a strong start for Hardem Magazine as a platform for intellectual and artistic exploration.
