Kurdish and Arab artists unite in joint exhibition

The Roots of Colors in the World Association launched a new season with an art exhibition at the Media Gallery in Erbil, featuring 50 Kurdish and Arab artists.

The exhibition highlighted a variety of colorful paintings, with themes centered around the Peshmerga, Kurdish leader President Barzani, the resilience of the Kurdish people, the stunning landscapes of Kurdistan, and the shared struggles and revolutions of Kurds and Arabs. Some artworks celebrated the beauty of life, while others depicted an old love story captured through the artists’ unique styles.

Participating artist Mohammed Khidir, speaking about the international “Takwin” exhibition, said, “I consider the opening of this international art exhibition in Erbil significant as it serves as a gateway for future projects and better planning.” He added, “These paintings showcase the creativity of the artists in color art, and we have made important steps toward globalizing our work in fine arts. Each artist’s work is distinct, and I have focused on nature, integrating rivers, lakes, and the beautiful scenery of Kurdistan into my pieces.”

The “Takwin” exhibition, organized in coordination with the Directorate of Fine Arts in Erbil, featured 70 paintings and portraits by Kurdish and Arab artists.
