Kurdistan places high value on drying fruits

The people of Kurdistan attach great importance to drying fruits: evenings are used as a remedy for hosting guests

Most fruits can be dried and later used as a treatment; a particular apparatus has been developed for this purpose. Some are combined with additional culinary components.

The majority of dried fruits are preserved using pomegranate and mulberry juices. After that, the process is carried out quietly and autonomously to give the fruits enough time to dry and be preserved with a specific ingredient. Certain fruits, particularly sour ones like apples, oranges, and lemons, are used for their juice.

There is a special device for drying fruits, but if you don’t have such a device, you can dry them in a household oven set to the air conditioning level. All fruits can be dried, but the handling process varies. It takes about 7 hours to dry the fruits. Some dried fruits can be mixed with other materials; for example, dried orange peel can be used in tea.

Mothers have long used this method of drying fruits to preserve them from spoilage, and it has been a popular way to preserve a variety of fruits and vegetables throughout the year. However, with the growth of civilization and the availability of different fruits and vegetables in various seasons, the use of dried fruits and vegetables has increased, leading to a thriving local and international market. It is noteworthy that you can export these more abundant home-produced items and profit from them.

Some of these dried fruits can be found in Kurdistan’s marketplaces, particularly in Shaqlawa, a bustling hub for the processing and retailing of dried fruits and medicinal products. Some are encased in special packaging and sold as valuable gifts. Even now, as their prices have risen, some of these fruits are still available for the Kurdistan domestic market. It is crucial to handle them effectively from both a business and production standpoint, introduce large industrial devices in the area, and make Kurdistan a significant player in the industry.
