New Education Directorate to Serve Kurdish Diaspora

A new education directorate for Kurdish language education in the diaspora will soon be launched to serve Kurdistanis living abroad. This initiative comes after a memorandum of coordination was signed between the Ministry of Education and the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora.

At a press conference, Alan Hama Saeed, the Minister of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), shared details of the project. “Following the recommendation of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, the Kurdistan Regional Government is establishing a directorate for education abroad to serve our diaspora communities. This will allow for more structured and institutionalized efforts in supporting Kurdish education overseas.”

Minister Saeed emphasized the significance of the collaboration with the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora. “Another vital aspect of this project is the establishment of this important institution, which has long supported the Kurdish diaspora. It will play a key role in helping Kurdistanis abroad, especially in language education, to foster a strong educational culture,” he added.

Saeed also highlighted the strong partnership with the Confederation of Kurdish Diaspora, a well-established organization that has deep connections with Kurdish communities worldwide. This coordination, he explained, is essential for the success of the new educational efforts aimed at preserving and promoting Kurdish language and culture in the diaspora.
