PM Barzani celebrates Iraqi Stars League launch

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani’s message at the Iraqi Stars League opening underscores the vital role of sports in the community.

The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) emphasized the importance of sports during the opening of the Iraqi Stars Football League. He described this occasion as a significant start to the new season.

On September 20, 2024, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani delivered a speech at the league’s opening ceremony in Duhok. In his address, the Prime Minister welcomed all the guests, expressing hope that everyone enjoyed the evening.

Adnan Darjal, President of the Iraqi Football Federation, also expressed his pleasure at having Prime Minister Barzani present at the stadium for this occasion. He extended gratitude to the Kurdistan Regional Government for its ongoing support for the event, emphasizing the collaborative effort involved in promoting football in the region.

Darjal thanked the enthusiastic crowd that filled the stadium, acknowledging the participation of fans from Zakho to Basra. He voiced optimism that this year’s league would be more advanced and successful than previous seasons, aiming for a high standard of competition.

Additionally, the president of the Iraqi Football Federation expressed his hopes that the Iraqi football league could become the best in the region and Arab countries in the future. He reiterated the importance of community support and engagement in achieving these goals.
