30 Films selected for Kurdish short film festival in Sulaymaniyah

Thirty artistic works have been selected to take part in the Kurdish Short Film Festival in Sulaymaniyah, highlighting the growing strength and diversity of Kurdish cinema.
Originally scheduled for early March, the festival was postponed to April due to security developments and weather conditions. Organisers have now confirmed that all preparations are complete. The event is being led by the Cinema Arts Department of the General Directorate of Culture and Arts in Sulaymaniyah.
The full list of selected films has been released in several stages. In total, around 30 Kurdish short films will be featured, including four short documentaries.
This year’s selections reflect a high level of artistic and technical quality. The films explore a wide range of themes, from everyday life in Kurdish society to broader global issues. The lineup also underscores the increasing presence of Kurdish cinema on the international stage, as more Kurdish filmmakers participate in global festivals and competitions.
