The fifth International Conference of the Iraqi Society of Nephrology and Renal Transplantation, held in partnership with the 18th International Congress of the Arab Society of Nephrology and Renal Transplantation, took place in Erbil with the participation of Kurdistan Region Health Minister Saman Barzinji, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, and local and international medical specialists.
The conference addressed kidney diseases, emerging treatments and advances in kidney transplantation, with doctors and specialists presenting scientific research and exchanging medical expertise.
Kidney transplantation is a major treatment option for patients with end-stage kidney disease. In recent years, medical and surgical care in this field has advanced, including in the Kurdistan Region, where specialized centers provide kidney treatment and transplantation services through multidisciplinary medical teams.
The conference provided an opportunity for specialists to discuss the latest treatment methods, share research and strengthen scientific cooperation in nephrology and organ transplantation, reflecting the Kurdistan Region’s progress in this field.
