Snow games festival draws tourists to Kurdistan

The seventh annual Snow Games Festival, held at the foot of Mount Hasari Sakran in the Balakayati region, has drawn large crowds of tourists and over 150 athletes. Featuring skiing, snowboarding, and other snow sports, the event has grown in size and scope this year, with a notable increase in female participants.

The festival aims to promote the region as a prime destination for snow sports while encouraging tourism. The area’s suitability for winter sports makes it a key location for further development. Many foreign participants marveled at the breathtaking scenery, highlighting the festival’s appeal beyond local borders.
