Duhok club eyes international stage after Gulf Cup triumph

Following their recent victory in the Gulf Cup, Duhok Club is setting its sights on an even greater goal—competing in a major international championship. Club President Abdullah Jalal confirmed that preparations are underway to ensure the team maintains its momentum on the global stage.
Jalal credited the team’s recent success to the support of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. “With the backing of Prime Minister Barzani, we were able to achieve this title,” he said. “He has also pledged a special reward for our players in recognition of their performance.”
Looking ahead, Jalal expressed ambitions for infrastructure improvements and international events. “We are requesting the construction of a modern stadium in Duhok, and with continued support, we hope to host an international championship here in the future.”
He also extended his gratitude to the Kurdish people and, in particular, Duhok Club fans. “Our supporters were the driving force behind this achievement,” he said. “We thank all the Kurds who stood behind us.”
As the team continues its journey, Duhok Club is not just chasing titles—it’s building a legacy.
