Eastern Kurdistan artists showcase 100 paintings in Sulaymaniyah

The Haft Rang (Seven Colours) Centre in Sulaymaniyah hosted a week-long painting exhibition featuring 25 artists from Mahabad and Bukan in Eastern Kurdistan. Held at the Esta Gallery Hall, the exhibition displayed 100 paintings of varying sizes and styles, including portraits, landscapes, and other artistic expressions.
The artworks included depictions of well-known literary figures, writers, and intellectuals such as the late Piramerd, Goran, Hêmin Mukriyani, as well as Abdullah Pashew and Bakhtiyar Ali. Bakhtiyar Saeed, owner of the Haft Rang Centre, highlighted the high technical and artistic standards of the pieces and emphasized the importance of bringing these works to Sulaymaniyah.
In a gesture of solidarity with Kurds in Western Kurdistan following recent events, the exhibition organizers announced that, if fundraising is successful, proceeds would be used to support relief efforts.
One participant noted that the exhibition aimed for diversity in style and subject matter, while also providing an opportunity for artists from both sides of Kurdistan to connect and become familiar with each other’s work. Visitors were encouraged to engage with the collection, fostering appreciation for Eastern Kurdistan artists.
