With the attendance of officials from the Erbil Governorate administration, the Ministry of Commerce, the head of the Erbil branch of importers and exporters, directors of commercial supervision, parks and gardens, and a large number of business owners, producers, and citizens, the Fifth Festival of Local Products was held in front of Shanadar Park in Erbil.
Following the opening ceremony, the Erbil Governor toured all sections of the festival and congratulated the organisers on the successful event. He also extended his best wishes to participating business owners and highlighted the governorate’s strategy to support farmers, strengthen the local economy, and create job opportunities for citizens.
The festival showcased a wide range of handicrafts, natural foods, and homemade products as part of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s ongoing efforts to support the private sector and develop local production. Officials stated that such initiatives aim to encourage farmers, youth, and small business owners to expand their projects and contribute to economic growth.
The Kurdistan Regional Government and Erbil Governorate continue to promote local industries through events that connect producers directly with consumers, reduce intermediaries, and create broader market access for Kurdish products. These efforts also aim to provide a supportive environment for artisans and farmers while boosting employment opportunities.
During his visit to the festival sections, the Erbil Governor reiterated that supporting farmers and local producers remains a core and permanent part of the governorate’s development strategy.
