Erbil hosts Kurdistan’s largest international health exhibition

On February 5, 2025, the Kurdistan Region’s largest international health exhibition opened in Erbil, attended by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Minister of Health Saman Barzanji. The event brings together over 150 international and local companies and will run for four days, showcasing the latest advancements in medicine, medical equipment, and healthcare technology.

The MEDICO Health Exhibition, the first and largest of its kind in Iraq and Kurdistan, is themed “See the Future of Health.” Dr. Anas Hawar, the event’s coordinator, highlighted its futuristic focus, including the role of robotics in healthcare and surgery. For the first time in Iraq and Kurdistan, an advanced AI-powered robot capable of recognizing individuals, conversing, diagnosing symptoms, and identifying diseases will be displayed.

The exhibition is expected to generate over 1,000 job opportunities, providing a significant boost to the local workforce. Prime Minister Barzani, in a post on X, reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing healthcare, stating that public-private partnerships will help expand services and enhance medical access for citizens.
