Fourth New Year Festival opens in Erbil near Sami Abdulrahman Park

Erbil — The Fourth New Year Festival was inaugurated in front of Sami Abdulrahman Park in Erbil in the presence of Governor Omed Khoshnaw, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Sarwar Kamal Hawari, Director of the Parks Department Rebin Ahmed, along with a large number of guests and tourists.
The festival featured dozens of shops and tents provided to local merchants to display and sell their products. The initiative aimed to create a family friendly environment for New Year celebrations while offering services and attractions for visitors to the city.
Most of the products on display included homemade foods, Kurdish goods, traditional handicrafts, and a variety of other items. The event provided an important opportunity for merchants to promote and market their products, while also creating a lively and joyful atmosphere for participants and visitors.
Artistic and musical performances were also organized as part of the festival program, adding to the celebratory mood and attracting tourists.
During the event, Governor Khoshnaw toured the festival, visiting participants individually and congratulating them on the occasion, while wishing them continued success.
The Erbil Governorate, in cooperation with the Erbil Municipality Presidency, has organized similar celebrations and festivals in various locations in Erbil in previous years as part of ongoing New Year festivities.
