The French Institute recently hosted a musical concert and dance performance at the Event Box Hall in Erbil, celebrating a blend of Kurdish and French folk cultures. The event, which received high praise from attendees, marked the third concert organized this year by the Institute.
The central theme of the concert highlighted the striking similarities between the folk dances of the Kurdistan Region and France’s Brittany region. A standout feature was the collaboration between three young French and three Kurdish artists, who presented a unique fusion of Kurdish and French folk music and dance.
The performance, which featured six musicians—three from France and three from Kurdistan—lasted over an hour. The cultural exchange captivated the audience, showcasing a harmonious dialogue between the two traditions and leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
