On Tuesday 6/5/2025, a significant number of unemployed doctors and protesting doctors held a protest rally in front of the Ministry of Health, which numbered (778) doctors demanded They were employing, in addition to other departments such as education, where year after year, the number of graduates is increasing and waiting for employment.
In fact, it is observed that many university graduates are unemployed after graduation. Although some of them graduate from important colleges such as medicine, they find jobs that are not compatible with their studies instead of becoming doctors In a civilized world, cadre training is based on the needs of the market and society.
Therefore, in order to prevent the influx of graduates who have studied for many years from going unemployed, we must look to those countries and benefit from their experience Businessmen consult with companies and send cadres to the market, society and government according to the needs of the market.
Because when there is this coordination between the market and the universities, they produce cadres and experts according to the demands of the market and the needs of society, so they are employed immediately after completing their studies, while the market That is, companies and businesses will spend half of the cost of educating students, reducing the pressure on the government on two sides: employment and the cost of education.
Now dozens and even hundreds of doctors, yes doctors, have graduated and are unemployed in the region and the government can not hire them, apart from Baghdad’s attitude to not pay the budget and salaries on time, which of course has a great impact There is such a situation, but are there enough hospitals in our country with their buildings and equipment ready to accommodate this influx of doctors? There are currently about 8,000 doctors in the Kurdistan Region.
Therefore, in order not to harm both students and the government, the government should seriously think about the coordination between the labor market and universities. We suggest the government and the relevant ministries of planning to look at the developed countries, so that neither government money nor students’ suffering is wasted.
