Honoring Gadgeros: A Tribute to a Dedicated Journalist

The Cultural and Media Department of the Kurdistan Democratic Party has renovated the memorial of the late journalist Gadgeros and commemorated the 34th anniversary of his martyrdom in Erbil.

In a solemn tribute, 34 candles were lit to mark the anniversary, and flowers were placed on his memorial in remembrance of his sacrifice.

Born in 1964 in Romania to a German family, Gadgeros moved to Germany with his mother at the age of 10. A graduate of Harvard University, he dedicated his career to journalism.

During the 1991 Kurdish Uprising, he arrived in Kurdistan as a foreign journalist, capturing the historic struggle through his lens and documenting the events as they unfolded.
