Kurdish artist joins international art congress in Germany

Kurdish writer and visual artist Hama Hashim is participating in the fifth International Art Congress, “At the Summit,” in Krefeld, Germany, bringing Kurdish artistic perspectives to an international gathering of artists.
The congress brings together artists from Germany, France, Romania, Russia, England, Iran, and Arab countries to exchange artistic experiences, techniques, and cultural perspectives. Hashim said the event provides an opportunity for artists to work collaboratively, share their approaches, and develop new ideas.
Hashim said his participation is also an opportunity to introduce Kurdish art and culture to an international audience while building connections with artists from different backgrounds and artistic traditions.
The congress will conclude with a joint exhibition featuring works created by the participating artists during the event. Hashim said the exhibition will reflect the cultural and artistic diversity represented at the gathering.
The fifth International Art Congress is scheduled to take place in Krefeld from August 21, 2026, for eight days.
Born in Koya in 1973, Hashim graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts. He has held 18 solo exhibitions and art presentations in Kurdistan and several countries, including France, Germany, Poland, India, the United States, Egypt, Iran, and Turkey. He has also participated in more than 150 group exhibitions and authored 10 books on art and prominent artists, including Van Gogh, Rodin, and Michelangelo.
