Kurdish athlete Hekar Gerdi has claimed victory at an international Muay Thai championship in Thailand, earning the prestigious title of Best Player.
The 27-year-old champion from Erbil has dedicated over 15 years to combat sports, including Muay Thai, kickboxing, boxing, and mixed martial arts. He is widely recognized across Kurdistan and Iraq for his numerous championship belts and trophies.
Representing Kurdistan on the international stage for the first time, Hekar competed in Phuket City, where he faced a German opponent. With powerful and precise strikes, he secured both the championship belt and top honors in the tournament.
