In the fourth edition of the Kurdish Film Festival in Amsterdam, 32 Kurdish films were screened as Kurds enthusiastically revitalized the festival. Additionally, several panels and meetings were held between filmmakers from all four parts of Kurdistan.
Rebar Doski, the president of the festival, announced that participants become familiar with their country’s community through this festival and eagerly participate in the festival and watch the films. He also expressed hope that the festival would continue to advance and attract more participants.
The festival also focuses on the cinema of Southern Kurdistan–Freedom and connects the 80 years of freedom in the Netherlands with the ongoing Kurdish struggle for cultural and political work.
Furthermore, the AKFF Academy, which invests in new Kurdish talents in the field of cinema, provides an opportunity for young Kurdish filmmakers to develop their own film plans under the guidance of an experienced director and offers them financial support.
