Kurdish girl excels in national table tennis championship

Elina Nazri, an 11-year-old Kurdish table tennis prodigy from Kermanshah, has secured first place in Iran’s under-11 national table tennis championship. Held over three days, the competition featured 16 of the country’s most promising young players. Elina won each stage—first in Kermanshah, then Mazandaran, and finally Tehran—without dropping a single match, demonstrating exceptional skill and determination.

Her remarkable achievement has led to her selection for Iran’s under-11 national girls’ table tennis team and the national women’s squad. Elina is now preparing to represent Iran in Asian championships, where she will compete against top talent from across the continent. This young athlete’s success is a point of pride for Kermanshah and the Kurdish community, underscoring the region’s growing presence in national sports.
