Kurdish star shines in debut for Al-Nassr

Erbil-born footballer Shokhan Nureddin dazzled with six goals in Al-Nassr’s pre-season debut

Shokhan resides in Erbil. During her school years in the city, she took part in most educational activities, representing her school in sports. Later, she joined Erbil Women’s Sports Club, where her talent quickly caught the attention of football coaches. In her first official participation, her team won the Kurdistan women’s championship.
Her exceptional level of play attracted international attention, with several offers from clubs in Germany and Europe. Eventually, she signed a contract with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, moving abroad to continue her career. There, she delivered strong performances and quickly rose as a professional star at the Saudi level.
Beyond football, Shokhan also played handball. With her club, she became the league’s top scorer, netting 50 goals, and was named both the best player in the Gulf and the best sports personality in Kurdistan in 2019.
Now, Shokhan has signed with Al-Nassr. In her first friendly match with her new club during pre-season preparations in Spain, Al-Nassr defeated Malaga 15–0. Shokhan scored six goals in that match, immediately making her mark.
Major clubs in Spain and Europe are already watching her closely, impressed by her level of play and eager to bring her into their squads at any cost. By playing for both Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, the two biggest clubs in Saudi Arabia, she has established herself as one of the brightest talents in women’s football. Her rise comes at a time when global attention is on Saudi Arabia’s football league, boosted by major international signings from Europe and America.
