Kurdistan agricultural industry experience significant growth

The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture, announced, “From today, a new market opens for our farmers.”
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani shared on the social network X: “I am pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture today. This agreement opens a new market for our farmers.”
On August 25, 2024, under the supervision of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministries of Agriculture of the Kurdistan Region and the Kingdom of Jordan. The agreement focuses on developing agricultural cooperation, coordination, and the food industry. Initially, Jordan is expected to import some agricultural products from the region, including potatoes.
Begard Talabani, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government, remarked: “This memorandum includes 10 distinct articles, encompassing 13 essential clauses. These clauses address the management of both plant and poultry sectors, animal products, and food industry factories in the Kurdistan Region. This memorandum represents a new experience among the various initiatives the Kurdistan Region has undertaken, particularly during the five-year tenure of the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.”
