Kurdistan basketball teams compete for Premier League spot

Kurdistan’s basketball clubs are aiming to join the ranks of Iraq’s premier teams as they compete in a league supervised by the Iraqi Basketball Federation. With strong preparation and a mix of young talent and experienced players, these clubs are determined to make their mark this season, with the ultimate goal of reaching the premier league.

The preliminary finals of the First Division Basketball League are currently underway in Erbil and Missan, with 10 clubs participating. Kurdistan clubs are focused on improving their performance and are hopeful that they will continue to rise through the ranks, eventually securing a place in the prestigious Premier League.

At present, Zakho and Darbandikhan represent Kurdistan in the Iraqi Premier League, and there is growing anticipation that more Kurdish clubs will join them in the league next season.
