Over 680,000 to receive January salaries via Myaccount program

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Finance and Economy announced that more than 680,000 civil servants, pensioners, security personnel, and families of martyrs will receive their January salaries digitally through the MyAccount program, part of the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize financial services.
Launched in 2023 under the leadership of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, MyAccount is a key component of the 9th cabinet’s agenda to strengthen financial inclusion and improve accessibility to banking services across the Kurdistan Region. The program allows beneficiaries to open secure bank accounts, receive salaries digitally, and access funds conveniently through ATMs and online services.
To date, over 900,000 public sector employees and beneficiaries have registered for MyAccount, demonstrating growing trust in the system. The program has also installed nearly 550 ATMs throughout the region, ensuring round-the-clock access to cash for citizens in urban and rural areas alike.
Officials noted that digital salary payments not only improve efficiency and transparency but also reduce the risks associated with handling cash payments. The Ministry of Finance and Economy emphasized that the program is part of a long-term strategy to modernize the region’s financial infrastructure, expand access to banking services, and provide citizens with a reliable, safe, and convenient way to manage their finances.
