PM Barzani, El-Sisi discuss investment and security

Leaders focus on expanding investments and fostering Middle East security.

Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani held high-level talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday at the historic Heliopolis Palace, marking a milestone in the growing relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Egypt.

During the meeting, President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for Barzani’s visit and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the Kurdistan Region. “Egypt values its partnership with Kurdistan and looks forward to expanding collaboration in multiple fields,” he said.
Prime Minister Barzani praised Egypt’s role as a stabilizing force in the Middle East, highlighting the country’s efforts in promoting regional peace and security. He also emphasized the potential for closer economic ties, noting that increased trade, investment, and cooperation could bring tangible benefits to both peoples.
Security concerns were another key topic. Both leaders agreed on the importance of coordinated efforts to preserve stability within Kurdistan, Iraq, and the broader region, reflecting shared responsibility and mutual interests.
The visit underscores the Kurdistan Region’s active diplomacy and Egypt’s engagement with regional partners, aiming to strengthen economic development, security, and long-term collaboration.
