Sanharib Club wins Iraqi women’s volleyball championship

Sanharib Club beat Akkad three sets to one, winning Iraq’s women’s volleyball championship in Erbil

The tournament began with the participation of six clubs: Akkad, Aphrodite, Sanharib, Darbandikhan, Qaraqosh, and Amanat Baghdad. All matches were played in the indoor hall of Akkad Club.
In the opening round, Aphrodite defeated Darbandikhan by three sets to two. In the second match, Sanharib Club secured an important victory, winning three sets to one against Qaraqosh. The third match saw Akkad Club triumph over Amanat Baghdad with three sets to zero.
The second-round matches were stronger and played at a higher level. The final was contested between Sanharib of Duhok and Akkad of Ankawa, Erbil. In front of a large crowd, Sanharib emerged victoriously, defeating Akkad three sets to one to claim the championship title.
Akkad Club had been the reigning champion for the last two seasons. The annual championship is organized and supervised by the Iraqi Volleyball Federation.
