The policy of the Iraqi government towards the Kurdistan Region is not new, because since the beginning of the Iraqi state, whenever the Kurds have demanded their deprived rights, they have been responded with fire and iron Not only that, but it has always complemented the policy of starvation and blockade.
We have all seen how Sheikh Mahmoud Hafed’s demands were met in the 1920s and later in the 1930s in the Barzan region, with what brutality, one of which was an economic blockade.
After the coup d’état of July 14, 1958, although the political system changed, but as soon as the Kurds demanded their rights, again, in addition to weapons, economic blockade was an effective method that was imposed on the liberated areas for nine years.
It is obvious that the Iraqi military regimes that came to power in successive coups took the same path against our people.
We were very happy to change the dictatorial system and expected the new authorities to take advantage of the dark history before them and not repeat these mistakes against the Kurds.
Unfortunately, they continued with the same evil method and now they are against the region in every way and they are following the blockade in the name of not paying salaries and budget Dissolve our region, because in fact, they do not see the great progress of the region, with the small budget (12.67) allocated to it and they did not have 87.33% They have not been able to serve the central and southern parts of Iraq.
Anyone who visits their areas today will be amazed at the backwardness of the lack of services that have left Iraq behind for hundreds of years. There is no electricity, no water, no services in these areas.
Therefore, all the efforts of the Baghdad authorities are to take Kurdistan to the pain of Iraqi Saudi Arabia, so they use every excuse to the region.
