Erbil unveils new hospital with robotic surgery

Erbil is poised to make significant strides in healthcare with the renovation of 21 departments at Rizgari Hospital and the construction of a new, state-of-the-art medical facility featuring multiple specialties and robotic surgery.

Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health for the Kurdistan Regional Government, announced the developments during a recent press conference. He highlighted that the ongoing renovations at Rizgari Hospital aim to modernize critical infrastructure, including water, sewage, heating, cooling, oxygen systems, and fire safety mechanisms, without disrupting patient care.

The new hospital, to be built within Rizgari Hospital’s courtyard, will include a major heart center for both adults and children and will pioneer robotic surgery in the region. Minister Barzanji emphasized that the facility is designed to become a model for advanced medical care and efficient management upon its completion.

These efforts mark a transformative step for Erbil, strengthening its position as a leader in medical innovation and patient care in the region.
