Erbil’s young tennis player continues to make his mark after claiming first place in a German Tennis Federation tournament.
Kurdish tennis prospect Kian Bahoz has added another achievement to his growing career, winning first place in a championship organized by the German Tennis Federation.
The young player traveled from Erbil to Germany to compete in the tournament, where his strong performance impressed organizers and participants. When officials learned that Kian was a member of the Erbil Tennis Union and had come from the Kurdistan Region, they expressed further admiration for his achievement.
Kian has been playing tennis since the age of five and has already competed in several tournaments, including three competitions in Baghdad, two in Duhok, six in Erbil, and now an international tournament in Germany.
Inspired by Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, currently one of the world’s top-ranked players, Kian hopes to continue improving and reach the highest levels of the sport.
“I want to grow quickly, win a Grand Slam title, and reach the world level,” Kian said.
His latest success highlights the growing presence of Kurdish athletes on international stages and the potential of young talent emerging from the Kurdistan Region.
