Under the patronage of President Masoud Barzani, the International Federation of Kurdish Language Congress began its proceedings in Germany, bringing together linguists, academics, and writers from various countries.
During the event, Shifa Barzani delivered a message on behalf of President Barzani, outlining proposals focused on preserving Kurdish national identity and strengthening the development of the Kurdish language. She emphasized that the Kurdish language remains the foundation of national continuity and must be protected through collective efforts.
She conveyed President Barzani’s call to Kurdish families in both the diaspora and the homeland to actively support language preservation by enrolling children in Kurdish language classes. She stressed the importance of ensuring that younger generations remain connected to their linguistic heritage.
Shifa Barzani further highlighted a key recommendation encouraging families to use Kurdish as the primary language within households, stating that parents play a central role in transmitting the language to future generations.
The congress aims to establish a unified international framework to support Kurdish language education and promotion worldwide, strengthening cooperation among scholars and cultural institutions dedicated to language preservation.
