The Kurdish Diaspora Confederation recently convened its second congress in Berlin under the theme “Our Unity is Our Success.” The two-day event brought together organizations and Kurdish cultural centers from all four parts of Kurdistan, emphasizing collaboration and shared heritage.
The congress focused on reviewing the achievements and challenges of the past three years while charting a course for the next phase. Key objectives included evaluating previous programs, appointing new leaders to various committees, and outlining a refreshed strategy for the Kurdish Diaspora Confederation in Europe. Participants expressed their commitment to continuing their efforts with renewed vigor and a unified approach.
Shifa Barzani, representing President Masoud Barzani, attended the congress alongside other notable figures. Dr. Hemn Hawrami, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Political Bureau, remarked:
“As part of the reorganization and evaluation of the Kurdish Diaspora Confederation’s work, we participated in the opening ceremony of the congress. President Barzani shared an inspiring message, highlighting his vision for the diaspora and extending his wishes for the congress’s success.”
The Kurdish Diaspora Center, an inclusive and neutral organization, remains committed to democracy, peace, freedom of expression, and equality. Rejecting all forms of violence, sectarianism, and nationalism, it serves as a unifying platform for individuals, groups, and organizations across the diaspora. By fostering connections with the homeland, the Center advocates for the Kurdish people’s right to self-determination while promoting coexistence and mutual respect.
Through events like this congress, the Kurdish Diaspora continues to strengthen its ties to its roots, celebrate its cultural identity, and work toward a unified vision for the future.
