Disaster and cooperation

By Salam Abdullah

Natural disasters are a normal phenomenon that occurs everywhere on this earth, which has nothing to do with the level of civilization and development of countries, because these disasters are beyond the strength and will of the people, but the difference is Developed countries always anticipate and prepare for such disasters, so when any unwanted situation occurs, they face it quickly, trying to reduce its effects, even if they can not completely Treat it immediately.
A developed country like Japan experiences earthquakes every year, so they always come out with minimal damage. In 2021, a massive flood hit southern Germany in particular, which is considered one of the biggest disasters in history that caused a lot of damage and casualties.
Although we all know that Germany is a very developed country in every way, it is still incapable of coping with natural disasters. The floods in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) have caused heavy damage in many parts of the region, especially in Chamchamal town and Garmian region.
What was a source of pride and joy, the citizens of the Kurdistan Region quickly reached out to the affected areas, especially Chamchamal, despite the appeal of the Kurdistan Regional Government and its efforts The Kurdistan Regional Government’s charitable organizations, especially the Barzani Charity Foundation, Ava Media, Kurdistan Foundation and Rwanga Foundation, immediately began to help the victims.
In this latest tragedy, our people have indeed shown a very warm and quick solidarity with the victims, especially by some businessmen, business owners and ordinary people, which is a great example of unity at the time It showed that our people have overcome regionalism and urbanism, which is very promising.
