The Kurdish Cultural Days Festival is being held for the first time at Omsk’s historic park, “Russia-Dirokma.”
The festival, which began on August 2 and will run until August 16, is organized by Musa Navruzevich, head of the Kurdish National-Cultural Autonomy in the Omsk region. “We aim to share our culture, history, and traditions with festival visitors through art, photographs, and videos,” Navruzevich stated. He added that the event will also educate locals and visitors about Kurdish marriage customs, traditional Kurdish attire, musical instruments, and regional cuisine.
The festival will feature exhibitions on the modern history of Kurdish settlements worldwide, Kurdish customs and culture, the history of Kurds in Russia and the Omsk region, and notable Kurds in Russia and globally. It will also highlight the role of Kurds during World War II and other conflicts.
The Kurdish Cultural Days Festival will continue at Omsk’s “Russia-Dirokma” park until August 16.
