Dalvin Ibrahim Flit, a young Kurdish violinist living in Almaty, Kazakhstan, recently participated in the second international music competition “Sound of Venice” held in Venice, Italy. She earned second place and was awarded the competition’s Grand Prix.
Her father, Ibrahim Flit, spoke about the event, noting that the competition took place from July 4 to 11 in Venice, a city renowned as the birthplace of the violin and a hub for the world’s greatest virtuosos. The jury featured members from Italy, Germany, and several other countries across Europe, Asia, and America.
Despite facing fierce competition from dozens of musicians worldwide, Dalvin impressed the jury with her violin performance, securing second place and receiving the coveted Grand Prix.
“This is a tremendous source of pride for us and brought us great joy,” Ibrahim shared.
Dalvin, born on July 8, 2010, to a Kurdish intellectual family in Kazakhstan, has already made a name for herself on the international stage. She has previously won first prize in voice and instrumental arts at the Great Music Festival in Kazakhstan (2020) and claimed the Grand Prix at another international competition. Her latest accolade from the Venice Music Festival continues to highlight her remarkable talent and achievements.
