Duhok breaks ground on new state-of-the-art stadium

Duhok is set to receive a major upgrade in its sports infrastructure, as construction on a new state-of-the-art stadium has officially begun. Governor Ali Tatar shared the exciting news during a press conference, reaffirming the Kurdistan Regional Government’s commitment to the city’s football club.

“We are here to demonstrate the government’s continued support for this club,” Governor Tatar said. He also emphasized that the new stadium will meet FIFA standards and address the growing needs of the club’s passionate fanbase.

“The current stadium is no longer sufficient for the number of fans attending games, so we’ve allocated land for a larger, more modern facility,” Tatar explained.

While Duhok already boasts a sizable stadium, the new facility will be designed to meet international standards, offering greater capacity and an improved fan experience. This initiative highlights the Kurdistan Regional Government’s broader efforts to enhance the region’s sports infrastructure.
