The fourth edition of the Kurdish Film Festival in Amsterdam is set to take place from May 9 to 11, 2025, in the Netherlands, with more than 32 Kurdish films scheduled for screening over the three-day event.
Lamedia Company, the main partner of the festival, has announced that this year’s edition will feature an extensive lineup of films, along with various panels and networking opportunities for filmmakers from all four parts of Kurdistan.
Under the theme “Freedom and South Kurdistan,” the festival will spotlight the cinema of South Kurdistan. It will also commemorate 80 years of freedom in the Netherlands, drawing a parallel with the ongoing Kurdish struggle for cultural and political rights.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will host a vibrant program filled with music, songs, discussions, and cultural performances. Dozens of experienced Kurdish filmmakers from around the world will gather to engage in dynamic conversations about the latest developments in Kurdish cinema.
