Darawan H. Hamid, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) representative in Spain, said that after two years of discussions and building strong relationships with Spanish institutions, this milestone marks a significant achievement. He described the initiative as a major step for promoting sports, tourism, and international recognition of the Kurdistan Region.
The project, known as Visit Kurdistan, was prominently displayed on the screen during the recent Barcelona-Guadalajara match. According to Darawan H. Hamid, this campaign is expected to attract tens of thousands of tourists from Spain and beyond, while also raising global awareness of the Kurdistan Region.
At the conclusion of his remarks, the KRG representative noted that stadium fans quickly began chanting “Visit Kurdistan,” signaling the potential reach of the campaign to hundreds of thousands of spectators worldwide.
