KRG interior minister signs Migration and Security Pact in Vienna

During an official visit to Europe, Reber Ahmed, Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), signed a coordination agreement in Vienna, Austria, with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The agreement, co-signed by Susanne Raab, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in migration management, reintegration, and capacity building. ICMPD is a leading international organization that partners with the KRG and provides services across multiple sectors in the Kurdistan Region.
At the start of his visit, Minister Ahmed met with Austrian Minister of Interior Gerhard Karner to discuss key issues, including security coordination, combating organized crime, tackling illegal migration, joint operations against drug trafficking, and improving the skills and capabilities of law enforcement forces.
The agreement represents a step forward in joint efforts between the two governments to share expertise and develop strategic cooperation on security challenges. These initiatives aim to enhance regional stability and security while supporting development for the benefit of both the Kurdistan Region and the international community.
