KRG holds second anti-drug conference in Erbil

Erbil recently hosted the second conference on combating narcotics and psychotropic substances, organized by the Office of the Coordinator for International Recommendations, with support from the Higher Committee for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances and in partnership with the International Organization for Human Rights and Refugee Affairs.
The conference aimed to strengthen the Kurdistan Regional Government’s policies against drugs and protect public health and social security. It brought together ministers, deputy ministers, and high-ranking officials, along with international representatives and experts, to participate in panels addressing stakeholder roles, international assistance, and community awareness.
Throughout the event, participants emphasized the need for joint action, enhanced coordination, and alignment with international standards to effectively combat narcotics and psychotropic substances in the Kurdistan Region.
