There is no denying the fact that there are dozens of armed groups in Iraq today, each of which belongs to a party and is not under the control of the Iraqi government or the Iraqi army they do.
But what is true is that these groups do not take into account the authorities of Baghdad or its army, and there are many examples of their violations on a daily basis and are not punished.
On the contrary, the Kurdistan Peshmerga Force is an official force and the Iraqi Constitution defines it as the Kurdistan Regional Guard. They are under the control of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Peshmerga Ministry and it is peaceful.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Peshmergas have proudly fought against the terrorist group ISIS and defeated it. Thousands of people have been martyred and wounded for this purpose are done.
This is in contrast to the groups that the Iraqi authorities describe as illegal groups whose “work” and “activities” are only against the interests of the region’s population and energy and financial resources, which falls into the category of terrorism and disruption of national security.
Therefore, the rumors that are heard here and there that if these groups are banned and armed, the decision must include the Peshmerga forces, which is completely against logic and reality, because there is no comparison It is far from the truth and an obvious injustice.
There have been no violations or illegal activities by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Peshmerga Forces. On the contrary, the areas under the control of the Peshmerga Forces are a safe haven even for the coalition forces. Because their soldiers are seen in the region every day and even spend their vacations in the region, because they are sure that the Peshmerga have principles and obey the law.
Therefore, this comparison was rejected by the Kurdistan Regional Government and is unacceptable. The Peshmerga is the defender of peace, coexistence, freedom and independence.
Long live the Peshmerga.
