Luay Salah appointed head coach of Erbil FC

Erbil FC have reached an agreement with Luay Salah to take charge of the team, with an official announcement expected in the coming hours.
The club had been searching for a new head coach following the departure of Bassem Qassim, who left to join Al Zawraa. The board reviewed several candidates before finalizing the decision, with four names initially under consideration.
Talks were also held in recent days with veteran coach Adnan Hamad, but no agreement was reached. Other names linked to the position included Abdul Ghani Shahd and Razi Shneishil.
According to Kurdistan24, all terms between Erbil FC and Luay Salah have been agreed. The contract is expected to be officially signed and announced shortly.
Luay Salah, a former striker and one of the club’s most notable players, represented Erbil FC between 2007 and 2015, where he established himself as one of the team’s historic goal scorers.
He previously served briefly as Erbil’s head coach in 2021 before leaving later that season. His return marks his second managerial spell at the club after more than five years away from the role.
