Duhok Club Stadium will host the opening match of the Iraq Stars League for the 2024-2025 season, as officially announced by the Iraqi Football Federation. This prestigious event comes after significant upgrades and renovations have transformed the stadium into one of Iraq’s premier sporting venues.
Following a rigorous inspection by the Federation’s Licensing Committee, Duhok Club Stadium has been granted the honor of not only hosting league matches this season but also serving as the venue for the league’s grand opening ceremony.
Sports officials in Duhok have confirmed that the inaugural match will kick off at the newly revamped stadium on Friday, September 20, 2024. The opening ceremony, scheduled to start half an hour before the first game, will feature an array of distinguished Iraqi and Kurdish figures as well as performances by renowned artists.
