The fifth annual “Grape Basket” Festival brings farmers, officials, clergy, and residents together to promote local grapes and agricultural products.
The fifth annual “Grape Basket” Festival was held in Ankawa at the model farm of farmer Salwan Sardar as part of ongoing efforts to support agriculture and promote locally produced goods.
The festival was inaugurated in the presence of senior government and political officials, Christian clergy, and a large number of citizens.
Following the opening of the festival pavilions and a tour of the various grape varieties on display, the Governor of Erbil praised the organization of the event and commended those involved.
The governor emphasized that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Erbil Governorate remain committed to supporting farmers and helping them market their locally produced agricultural goral sector acrosods. He said such efforts are essential to strengthening and developing the agricultus the Kurdistan Region.
Held over two days, the festival aimed to showcase local grape varieties and other domestic agricultural products while providing farmers with an opportunity to market their harvest directly to consumers.
The event also gave residents the chance to see and experience the quality and diversity of locally grown produce.
The festival once again highlighted Ankawa not only as a center of cultural diversity, civilization, and peaceful coexistence, but also as an important contributor to local agricultural production.
