A new cabinet and a bunch of old crises

By Salam Abdullah

Since the fall of the Ba’athist dictatorship in 2003, nine cabinets have been formed in Iraq, two of which have been temporary and the others have been short-lived depending on the political situation He will become the tenth cabinet.
Although Mr. Ali Zaidi is not well known in the political and opposition arena, he has a successful business background and is recognized by Iraqi political forces with several degrees It has been identified that he may help him in his work in the future.
But he is now heading a job in an unstable country that faces a number of challenges, above all the issue of relations between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region over the past 23 years Successive cabinets have not been able to deal with them properly and legally and the problems, cabinet after cabinet, if not increased or decreased, the main reason for this insolubility is due to ignoring the constitution It is a violation that previous cabinets have left each other without a solution.
Although at the beginning of every new cabinet, a number of promises were made to the Kurdistan Region and its political parties, but nothing was implemented on the ground, the issue of Article 140 is one of the problems It has been resolved according to the constitution, but no practical steps have been taken so far.
The issue of the budget and salaries of the employees remains pending until now and is postponed every month and listened to, so if the current gentleman who has been entrusted with this task wants If Baghdad does not repeat the mistakes of previous cabinets and follow the same path, the best method to solve all the problems between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region is to resort to the implementation of the constitution as it is Eighty percent of the Iraqi people voted for it and approved it. Otherwise, if the issue continues without a fundamental solution, the problems will remain the same and the situation in Iraq will remain the same It remains unplaced.
