Kurdish teen becomes first UEFA-licensed coach in Norway

Lanya Qais Bilbas, a 17-year-old Kurdish girl from Erbil, has made history by becoming the first Kurdish coach in Norway to earn a UEFA B license. She proudly embraces the responsibility of training young European athletes, marking a significant milestone in women’s sports.

Daughter of a well-known Kurdish athlete, Lanya has quickly gained recognition in Norwegian football. Following her achievement, she signed a contract with Norwegian club Klemetsrud and now leads the club’s under-15 girls’ team.

Lanya credits her success to the unwavering support of her father, whose guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in her journey. His mentorship has fueled her passion and determination to excel in coaching, setting an inspiring example for aspiring female athletes.
