Denmark is home to a young Kurdish champion whose achievements extend beyond sports and into cultural pride and representation. At just 14 years old, Kurdish-Danish gymnast Valentina Maher Jamil has emerged as one of the country’s most promising young athletes, winning multiple national gold medals while remaining deeply connected to her Kurdish roots.
Born in Afrin in Western Kurdistan and raised in Denmark from an early age, Valentina discovered gymnastics at the age of four. Her talent quickly became evident, and through years of discipline, training, and determination, she rose to the top of national competitions. She has since claimed gold medals in several Danish championships, along with silver finishes, establishing herself as a standout figure in youth gymnastics.
