Renowned artist remembered for authentic voice and cultural contributions
Yadollah Mohammadi, a celebrated singer known for performing in the Ardalan dialect, passed away after 12 years of battling illness. Born in 1956 in Sanandaj, Mohammadi became a beloved figure in Kurdish music, admired for his authentic style and dedication to traditional melodies.
Since 2019, following a heart attack, he had withdrawn from performing and remained under continuous medical care. Despite his absence from the stage, his voice and songs continued to resonate with fans, and he maintained a large and devoted audience.
Mohammadi began studying music at a young age and spent 20 years under the guidance of artist Hassan Kamkar, honing his musical talent. Throughout his career, he recorded 78 unique songs and melodies, all reflecting the Kurdish culture and authenticity of the Ardalan dialect.
On the 2nd of the third month, his funeral was held at Beheshti Mohammadi Cemetery, attended by fellow artists, intellectuals, and residents of Sanandaj. He was laid to rest in the “Artists’ Section,” next to the grave of the renowned artist Abbas Kamandi, marking a respectful farewell to a treasured voice in Kurdish music.
